“the false Tiberius,” possibly Tiberius III Apsimaros (as noted by David Cook). There were also two impostors of Tiberius, son of Justinian II, after his death in 711 C.E. (one in 715 and one in 737). As Nu'aym mentions the real Tiberius son of Justinian II, the false one could refer to either of these imposters.
